I did an HBO movie about a high school girl coming out of the closet. After it aired, I got my first fan letter in which a young man who had homophobic feelings had changed his feelings regarding homosexuality. I had changed one person's prejudice in the world with my work in a movie. That is my greatest influence and inspiration."
